For trainings please request 2 weeks in advance for groups of less than 10 and 4 weeks in advance for groups of 10+.
Below are the Offered Trainings with their descriptions:
Cultural competency training encourages an awareness of one’s own cultural identity and views about the differences of others. This training engages individuals in the ability to learn and build on the varying cultural and community norms. The anticipated outcome is the individual’s ability to understand the within-group differences that make each person unique, while celebrating the between-group variations that make our campus and communities an interwoven tapestry of variety.
Unconscious Bias training is designed to bring awareness to the fact that all humans have biases. This training provides tools to challenge automatic patterns of thinking in effort to decrease or diminish discriminatory behaviors by highlighting automatic, unintentional, deeply engrained behaviors.
Religious Pluralism training utilizes reflection on attitudes, biases, and embedded thought processes that can be harmful to individuals of varying faiths or worldviews around us. During this training we review the diversity of faith/worldviews beliefs to embrace, accept, affirm and support varying faith\worldview traditions that are represented in the Rutgers-Camden community.
SafeZone is a campus-wide initiative to create an inclusive climate for the Rutgers-Camden community. SafeZone provides and promotes a positive, supportive, and affirming environment for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) community.
